In the November 3 Coin World, on the reverse side of the cover page, is an ad for the next Bowers and Merena auction and an 1870-CC double eagle is pictured. NGC EF-45. I am just starting a post to track the results. :)
I saw that coin at the ANA show in Baltimore this past summer. It was offered for $385,000.00! Later, the price was reduced to $345,000.00. Either way, it is a very nice example of one of the dream dates from the "CC" coin set. Keep us posted on the track.
