Trade Dollar talk

I had to read Mr Sneddon's article in the current issue of Curry's Chronicle several times and then compare his descriptions to my own Trade Dollars in order to get the most out of the article. Even still...I had to call Rusty to clarify a couple of points.

Does anyone know of a reference book or article that focuses on Trade Dollar varieties?

Greetings Belay Off. Welcome to our blog site. Yes, Mr. Sneddon's articles are always enlightening. He is very knowledgable on the subject of "CC" trade dollars. I don't know of any books off hand that would include all the known die pairs/varieties etc. Perhaps Mr. Sneddon should write one. I do know of a site that features some of the finest trade dollars ever. It is the Legend Collection. I don't know the owner personally but he has a web site to view his amazing coins. It is: Tradedollarnut.com
His collection contains some of the finest knowns in trade, seated and Gobrecht dollars. He calls his site "The web's number one site for information on United States trade dollars." If you haven't already checked this site out, do so....you won't be sorry. I hope this helps you out a bit. Once again...a big welcome aboard!

Thanks Drummer! I am pretty new to the numismatic scene and was not aware of that Trade dollar site. I'm heading there next after this comment.

I also found abebooks.com to be a great source as well though the really good stuff is quite pricey.

Thanks again for the welcome and the referral...
